Introduction to Biking/Cycling

Self-propelled vehicles are perhaps the most important form of transportation in the world today. With much of the world unable to afford a car and oil growing more and more scarce, the bicycle is a way of life for many cultures. In countries such as Vietnam bikes seemingly outnumber people, while in the Netherlands bike lanes are found on every city street. Bikes are not only necessities though. They can be pure excitement and adrenaline and hundreds of thousands set off for destinations around the world for day, week, and month long trips. Armed with their own gear and tools, or just a rental, they make their way off road to places where cars just can't reach and across distances that can't be covered by foot.
