Its slopes are well-groomed, its resorts five-star, and its patrons A-list—hence the town’s celebrity-studded reputation. Aspen also has an authentic history in its arsenal; it was originally a quaint silver-mining town and only struck gold around 1940, when it was developed into a ski resort. Since then, it’s become the only ski town known for its slopes and its fashion sense. |
