Tour Overview
Egypt is a country filled with treasures from a glorious past. This trip is ideal for those wishing to combine visits to the awe-inspiring sites with the comfort and relaxation of a Nile cruise and a stay by the Red Sea. With the help of our excellent guides, we delve in to the country's impressive past. We visit Cairo's famous Archaeological Museum, the breathtaking pyramids and the tombs and grand temples of ancient Thebes (to name but a few!). The Nile, Africa's most important river also holds many delights. We sail on a traditional felucca in the vibrant Nubian city of Aswan and take a 3 night cruise down the Nile, visiting Kom Ombo and Edfu on the way. Our journey ends by the Red Sea with time to enjoy the golden beaches and explore the magnificent coral reefs. A varied itinerary and the perfect introduction to a truly captivating land.
Itinerary:Day 1 Start Cairo.
2 Full day tour of citadel and famous Egyptian Archaeological Museum.
3 Full day tracing the evolution of the Pyramids. Overnight train to Aswan.
4 Explore the temples and islands of Aswan by felucca. Afternoon free.
5 Optional trip to Abu Simbel.
6 Last chance for sightseeing; optional trip to see Aswan high dam, temple of Philae and unfinished obeilsk; board cruise boat.
7 Cruise down Nile visiting Edfu and Kom Ombo en route.
8 Free time to relax and enjoy facilities on cruise boat.
9 Arrive at Luxor, visit Karnak and Luxor temples.
10 Morning exploration of the Valley of Kings, Queen Hatshepsut's Temple and the Colossi of Memnon. Free afternoon.
11 Transfer to Red Sea.
12 A full day in El Gouna; relax and swim, take a boat trip or snorkel and dive in the crystal clear waters of the Red Sea (all optional).
13 End El Gouna.
