Camel rides, Saharan dunes, palmfilled oases, cave homes, a massive Roman arena and a relaxing beach.The coastal town of Sousse has a fortified medina filled with narrow, winding streets and souks selling all manner of trinkets and spices. At El Djem you'll visit the third largest amphitheatre in the Roman world. Walk in the footsteps of the gladiators through tunnels under the arena and sense the atmosphere and clash of weapons. Using the trading town of Tozeur as a base you'll head up into the mountains to explore palm-filled oases.

Accomodations and comfort level:
Hotels (6 nights), camp (1 night), rustic troglodyte cave hotel (1 night). You'll stay in small centrally located hotels and larger tourist style properties; all have en suite facilities. The traditional cave hotel has multi-share rooms and facilities. Your desert camp has an ablution block.

Notes :
Minimum age: 5 years. An easy journey with a couple of longer drives. It can be dusty and hot - especially during the summer. Be prepared for basic conditions in the desert and your cave accommodation. Sleeping bag required.
